Jun 2022 – Dec 2025First Node.js hire. Built the backend team, standards and delivery pipeline, then led a 12-person team through two large government builds.
- Established the Node.js backend structure and coding standards from scratch
- Introduced source control (on-prem GitLab) and a Jenkins CI/CD pipeline with DevOps, then trained the team. Deployments went from 3–4 hours of manual work to a few automated minutes
- Personally ported two Java products (HiveEPM, Xigt) to Node.js/NestJS, keeping the same frontend and reworking the endpoints, with notably faster responses on major APIs such as the import/export modules
- Grew to Team Lead within ~6 months, hiring and building the backend team
